Syed Shah Nawaz (Late) early life and Career History.
Syed Shah Nawaz founded and nurtured Abbasy & Associates towards its current avatar as a firm that values culture and climate and builds gently in the context.
Architect Syed Shah Nawaz is known for his choice of unusual materials as well as his Architect's philosophy. He is known for his professionalism and adherence to budgets of the building while designing. He did Bachelor's in architecture from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in 1968 and established Abbasy & Associates since then. He practiced Architecture for 53 years and his major specializations includes Hospitals, Universities, Sports Projects, Auditoriums and Housing Schemes. He was the Chief Architect and Director of the Firm.
His major ARCHITECTURAL ACHIEVEMENTS includes:
- Established 3 companies during his life time; Abbasy & Associates (Consulting Architects & Engineers 1968), Syed Group (Promoters & developers 1984), Syed Associates contractor and builders 1996).
- Gave special concept of combined type terraced housing selected as best Project by a jury of American teachers in 1965.
- Researched on low-cost housing.
- Researched on Museums, Auditoriums and Hospital of various types and capacities.
- Designed the famous Kamal Ataturk and Sukarno Memorials constructed at Larkana.
- Designed Gymnasium, Cultural Complex and Training Complex Sindh.
- Was selected as one of the Architects in Pakistan to represent "Architecture in Pakistan" Published in London 1976 by a British Magazine Building Design.
- Had vast experience of designing, co-ordination and supervision of large-scale projects.
- Travelled abroad vastly and studied modern Hospital designing.
